Carl A. Beckstedt III

Carl began litigating in 1989 as a Wisconsin student practitioner through a select internship with the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, Felony Division. After law school, Carl was associated with a boutique litigation firm in Milwaukee where he obtained national media attention in various state and federal matters, including a civil law suit involving Major League Baseball Player Gary Sheffield. In 1998, Carl joined one of the largest civil defense litigation firms in the Virgin Islands where he became one of the lead trial counsel and the managing partner. In 2012, he opened Beckstedt & Associates, a defense-oriented firm of trial lawyers.

Carl is a certified mediator and has held various positions with the Virgin Islands Bar including past Secretary, member of the Committee on Client Protection and past Chair of the Technology Committee. He regularly provides pro bono legal services to both individuals and organizations, including The Nature Conservancy, the Virgin Islands Board of Realtors and the St. Croix Yacht Club.
